USB-C Docking Station Turns Your Device’s USB or Thunderbolt 3 Port into a Workstation This multiport USB-C dock with PD charging expands the potential of your Windows laptop, Chromebook, MacBook, tablet or other device with a USB-C or Thunderbolt 3 port. It’s ideal for transmitting 4K video with audio, adding a thumb drive and other USB peripherals, powering and charging a PD Charging-compliant mobile device and storing data on a 2.5-inch SATA hard drive, all at the same time. Supports USB-C DisplayPort Alternate Mode for Converting Audio/Video Signals By connecting the built-in USB-C cable to a source device that supports USB DisplayPort Alt Mode, you can output 4K video and digital audio to an HDMI monitor, television or projector without installing special software drivers. Transmits Crystal-Clear 4K Video with 4:4:4 Color The U442-DOCK17-GY supports Ultra HD resolutions up to 3840 x 2160 (4K x 2K) at 30 Hz, as specified in HDMI 2.0, with 36-bit Deep Color. HDCP 2.2 compliance allows you to stream 4K Amazon and Netflix content with no complications. This docking station also supports 4:4:4 chroma subsampling for top-level PC gaming or using your HDTV as a PC monitor. USB Hub Ports Connect Peripherals and Charge Mobile Devices Two USB-A ports and one USB-C port accept USB peripherals, such as flash drives, mice, keyboards and printers. All support fast USB 3.2 Gen 1 data transfer rates up to 5 Gbps and are backward compatible with USB 2.0 and USB 1.1 devices. Additionally, the USB-A ports provide 5V 1.5A (7.5W) of power for charging your smartphone and other devices. Note : Host device must support USB On-the-Go (OTG). PD Charging Port Charges Host Device via AC Wall Charger The USB-C Power Delivery port supports power output up to 20V 5A (100W), which is sufficient for charging and powering the connected source device, such as a MacBook, Windows laptop or Android smartphone. Just connect the device’s AC wall charger to the USB-C PD port. As noted above, the port also transfers data at USB 3.2 Gen 1 speeds up to 5 Gbps. Note : This port does not support Quick Charge (QC). Connect a High-Performance SATA Drive for Extra External Data Storage Add more storage space to your laptop by connecting a 2.5-inch SATA III solid state drive (SSD) or hard disk drive (HDD). Just remove the dock’s cover, insert the SATA drive and replace the cover (no tools are needed). The U442-DOCK17-GY retrieves data at speeds up to 6 Gbps. It also reads data up to 70 percent faster when connected to a UASP-enabled host controller. Note : Because memory works differently on each operating system, select “exFAT” as the file system format to increase compatibility. Built-In USB-C Cable Connects in Either Direction Unlike traditional USB cables that connect in only one direction, the reversible USB-C male connector plugs into a USB-C or Thunderbolt 3 port in either direction for an instant connection every time. The two-foot (0.6-meter) cable wraps around the dock’s diameter for easy organization when not in use. Ready to Use Right Out of the Package The plug-and-play USB-C dock is specifically designed for use with Windows laptops and other notebooks, smartphones, tablets and devices equipped with a USB-C or Thunderbolt 3 port. Its compact footprint fits easily into your desk space without taking up much valuable room. A support bracket helps make a connected phone or tablet more stable.
